Best Dressed Trooping The Colour 2024

Each year, the Sovereign’s official birthday is celebrated with a grand military parade and march, known as Trooping the Colour or The King’s Birthday Parade. Held every June on Horse Guards Parade in Whitehall, this event draws large crowds and is watched by millions around the world.

Trooping the Colour is always a display of elegance and pageantry, with the British royal family often showcasing their finest fashion choices. This year was no different, as several royal women stood out with their impeccable style last Saturday. Here’s a look at the five best-dressed women at this year’s Trooping the Colour event.

1. Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales

Kate Middleton once again proved why she is considered a regal fashion icon. She wore a gorgeous long sleeve dress designed by Jenny Packham, decorated with black and white ribbon. The intricate detailing and the tailored fit highlighted her slender figure, in her first public appearance since it was announced that she was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. Her ensemble was completed with a suede Mulberry Bayswater wallet, white heels and a matching hat by Philip Treacy.

2. Princess Charlotte

Princess Charlotte looked adorable in a nautical-inspired ensemble at the event. The dress was classic navy blue with white trim and had a traditional sailor collar, making her look equally as playful as she did chic. Her hair was styled neatly half up and she wore a charming white bow that matched her outfit perfectly.

3. Princess Anne

Princess Anne rode on horseback wearing the Full Mounted Ceremonial uniform of the Blues and Royals. This impressive uniform featured a striking combination of dark blue and red with gold embellishments. She also carried the Gold Stick, accompanied by the Colonel of The Life Guards. Her attire not only reflected her military rank but also her dedication to her ceremonial duties.

4. Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh

The Duchess of Edinburgh added a pop of colour to the event this spring. She wore a canary yellow dress with a round neckline, puffed sleeves and floaty skirt by Beulah London, exuding timeless beauty. Sophie’s accessories included a crepe hat from Jane Taylor Millinery, featuring adding netted detailing across her face, as well as drop earrings by Gilia Barela, making her easily one of the most elegantly dressed women at the event.

5. Lady Louise

20 year old Lady Louise Windsor blossomed in a glamorous Suzannah London silk dress decorated with soft pastel flowers, making her look an effortless symbol of spring spirit. Her dress had a high neckline, long sleeves cinched at her waist and cuffs. She matched it with a striking Jane Taylor hat, previously worn by her mother. It should be noted that she was seen in the same dress at King Charles and Queen Camilla’s coronation last year, a refreshing reminder that she has embraced the art of the royal rewear.

The Trooping the Colour event in 2024 was a feast for the eyes, with these royal women showcasing a perfect blend of tradition and modernity in their fashion choices. Each one brought their unique style to the event, making it a truly memorable occasion.
