Christmas Gift Guide 2026: Fashion, Food & Lifestyle

Christmas shopping gets considerably easier when the focus is on things people will genuinely use, wear, eat or keep. STORY’s Christmas 2026 gift guide brings together 15 ideas across fashion, food and lifestyle, from smaller presents to more substantial investment pieces.

There are gifts designed to last well beyond the festive season, including Scottish cashmere, British leather goods, jewellery and cookware, alongside presents intended to be opened and shared immediately. Food features prominently too, from traditional Chelsea buns and hand-iced biscuits to Christmas chocolate and a hamper produced by a bakery with a wider social purpose.

Johnstons of Elgin Wide Cashmere Scarf, £325

Cashmere remains one of the most dependable winter gifts, particularly when the design is simple enough to work with an existing wardrobe. Johnstons of Elgin’s wide scarf is made in Scotland from pure cashmere and has generous proportions that allow it to be wrapped around the neck or worn loosely over a coat.

Johnstons of Elgin has worked with cashmere and fine fibres in Scotland for more than two centuries. Here, the focus is on the material, finish and scale rather than conspicuous branding or seasonal detailing. It is a piece designed to return every winter rather than feel tied to Christmas 2026.

Mulberry Heritage Zipped Long Card Holder, £175

For someone who has largely stopped carrying cash, a slim card holder can be more useful than a traditional purse. Mulberry’s Heritage Zipped Long Card Holder combines four card slots with a zipped compartment and an additional leather slip pocket without becoming bulky.

The design is made from printed BioVeg Scotchgrain and finished with the restrained detailing associated with Mulberry’s small leather goods. Its long, narrow shape also makes it easy to move between an everyday handbag and smaller evening bags.

Olivia von Halle Lila Soren Silk Pyjamas, £630

Pyjamas are an obvious Christmas present, but Olivia von Halle takes the familiar idea into luxury territory. The Lila Soren set is made from 19-momme silk satin and finished with contrasting piping, using the relaxed shirt-and-trouser silhouette associated with the brand’s Lila line.

The burgundy stripe gives the classic shape a seasonal colour without turning it into novelty Christmas nightwear. These are pyjamas designed to remain in rotation after December rather than being packed away with the decorations. Personalisation is also available.

Shaun Leane Sabre Mini Hoop Earrings, £195

Jewellery can be difficult to buy for somebody else, particularly when ring sizes come into the equation. A small pair of hoops offers a more straightforward option.

Shaun Leane’s Sabre Mini hoops take the curved, pointed silhouette associated with the British jewellery house’s Sabre collection and scale it down into an everyday earring. The shape remains distinctive without making the earrings difficult to combine with other jewellery.

The pair is available in sterling silver and 18ct yellow-gold vermeil.

UGG Scuffette II Slippers, £95

Some presents make most sense at Christmas because they can be put to use immediately. UGG’s Scuffette II is a suede house slipper with a soft sheepskin collar and lining, designed for wearing indoors during the colder months.

The familiar slip-on shape keeps things simple, while the sole gives it more structure than a traditional fabric slipper. At under £100, it also sits between the smaller accessories and investment fashion pieces elsewhere in the edit.

The White Company’s Cashmere Essential Scarf offers a more accessible alternative to the larger Johnstons of Elgin scarf. Made from pure cashmere with a fine ribbed finish, the design is deliberately simple, without obvious seasonal motifs or statement detailing.

At £100, it brings pure cashmere into a lower price bracket while still feeling substantial enough to give as a main present. Its understated design also means it can be worn with different coats and knitwear throughout winter.

The Clink Bakery Celebration Hamper, £95

The Clink Events – Food Shoot 2026

The Clink Bakery’s Celebration Hamper approaches the traditional Christmas hamper differently. Alongside a bottle of Gusbourne Blanc de Blancs 2020, the £95 selection includes festive cookies, St Clements shortbread, cheddar and parmesan sablés, morello cherry jam, spiced mixed nuts, chocolate salami, panforte, mince pies, Clink truffles and stollen bites.

What distinguishes it from many of the hampers available this Christmas is where the food is made. The Clink Bakery is part of The Clink Charity, which works with people in prison to provide vocational training, recognised qualifications, employment preparation and support intended to help participants build sustainable lives after release.

The bakery opened next to The Clink Restaurant at HMP Brixton in October 2022. It operates as a professional production facility as well as an accredited training environment, giving prisoners practical experience alongside formal training.

The Celebration Hamper therefore works as a family, host or client present while supporting the charity’s wider training and rehabilitation work.

Biscuiteers Merry & Bright Biscuit Tin, £39.95

Biscuiteers’ Merry & Bright tin contains nine hand-iced gingerbread biscuits decorated individually with colourful Christmas designs.

They arrive in one of the brand’s illustrated keepsake tins, which can be reused once the biscuits have been eaten. That makes the packaging part of the present rather than simply something to discard afterwards.

The size also makes this an easy gift to send directly to friends and family or take with you when visiting over Christmas.

Fortnum & Mason The Christmas Treat Hamper, £120

Fortnum & Mason’s Christmas Treat Hamper brings together seven seasonal products in the London retailer’s wicker basket.

It sits towards the smaller end of Fortnum’s extensive hamper collection, making it a more manageable option than some of the retailer’s larger Christmas baskets. Part of the appeal is the presentation itself: the individual products arrive together in a wicker basket that can be kept afterwards.

For parents, hosts or a household rather than one individual recipient, it is a traditional Christmas option with plenty to share.

Fitzbillies Chelsea Buns, £25 for six

Fitzbillies Chelsea buns
Traditional Chelsea buns from Fitzbillies Cambridge

Not every food gift needs elaborate packaging or a three-figure price. Fitzbillies has been making its Chelsea buns in Cambridge since 1920, and the bakery’s sticky buns remain its best-known product.

Made with currants, cinnamon and brown sugar before being finished with syrup, they are deliberately traditional. A box contains six buns and comes with additional syrup, with delivery available around the UK.

This is a straightforward food gift designed to be put on the table and shared.

Chocolate remains useful because Christmas gifting rarely stops with immediate family. There are teachers, hosts, colleagues and relatives to consider, and Hotel Chocolat’s Christmas Classic collection for 2026 covers several price points.

The range starts with a six-piece box at £10 and extends to a 48-piece collection at £55. Across the collection are caramels, pralines, fruit and nut chocolates and seasonal flavours.

The different sizes allow the same collection to cover anything from a smaller thank-you to a larger box intended for sharing over Christmas.

Le Creuset Cast Iron Oval Casserole, £325

Le Creuset Cast Iron Oval Casserole
Le Creuset Oval Casserole with lid

Le Creuset’s cast-iron oval casserole is designed for roasting, slow cooking and oven-to-table serving. Its elongated shape accommodates larger cuts of meat and whole poultry more easily than a conventional round casserole.

The enamelled cast iron retains heat, while the wide handles make the casserole easier to move between hob, oven and table. Le Creuset also covers its cast-iron cookware with a lifetime guarantee.

It is one of the more substantial home presents in the edit, but one designed for regular use rather than display.

The White Company’s rechargeable electronic diffuser offers an alternative to a conventional scented candle. Its compact design means it can be moved between a bedroom, bathroom, living room or home office without remaining connected to a power socket.

It works with The White Company’s fragrance oils, allowing the recipient to change the scent depending on the room or season rather than committing to a single fragrance.
