BAFTAs 2025 Best Dressed With Ali Of Inspired Styling

The BAFTAs were a memorable moment for the red carpet and off course the awards ceremony proceedings itself. With reference to the former we spoke to Ali of Inspired Styling with regards her take on the BAFTAs red carpet fashion.

Ali is a personal stylist specialising in colour analysis and dressing for your body shape. Her mission is to bring joy and confidence to women by enhancing their personal style and she offers friendly online services that focus on accessible high street looks. Her styling advice has been published in HuffPost, Woman & Home, Women’s Health and The Telegraph.

Below are her thoughts on the BAFTAs red carpet and the trends you need to watch for…

1. Who were your best dressed at the BAFTAs 2025 and why?

For me, best dressed at the BAFTA’s were Naomi Ackie and Raffey Cassidy. Naomi’Ackie wore a stunning asymmetrical pewter sculpted Versace gown, which was sculpted across the bodice. The futuristic Grecian Goddess-reimagined look with a snake-like shoulder detail hugged her body in all the right places. Raffey Cassidy plumped for a full-length floaty ivory dress, with intricate floral beading and soft feminine gathers across the shoulders and navel. The style was reminiscent of 1940s Hollywood glamour silhouette, with a plunging neckline to bring it bang up to date.

2. Did you spot any recurring themes or trends fashion wise?

Black gothic-inspired details cropped up for both men and women on the red carpet, with black feathers, satin and lace detailing. Dresses were mostly figure-hugging with low necklines, defined waists and full length fishtail skirts. Halter-necks also made an appearance on various dresses. There was more maximalism, with beading, bows and gathers than we have seen for quite some time.

3. Do you think any of the looks might funnel down to the Streetstyle?

Satin bodices and bustiers have been gathering pace for a while now along with all things 90s and noughties, so I expect after the BAFTAs we’ll see much more of these styles. It’s likely we will see a high street version of Cynthia Erivo’s much-photographed white lace dress, albeit with a less extreme, more wearable finish across the top of the bodice.
