Shahini Fakhourie is an eponymously named American Black owned high end minimalist highstreet label. The sustainable line boasts an aesthetic that is pared back and focuses on making basics.

Fakhourie the founder of the label was inspired to get into fashion following being taught to sew by her grandmother.

The designer graduated from the Miami International University of Art and Design and Academy Art University with a concentration in fashion makes clothes that are informed with a focus in form and function. Her core beliefs are transparency, affordability, sustainability and quality.

With reference to her work, we asked the designer to share a little on her story. This is what she said – “I was working in NYC For a major label that I had always dreamed of working for. Soon enough, this chapter of my journey served as a pressure point for change turned my walk into a run. I recognized this wasn’t the pinnacle, there was so much I knew I wanted to bring forward. I was intentional towards working for myself and building my own brand. So, I went back to Miami and began to breathe life into my vision. It hasn’t been an easy road, but has certainly made life interesting.”
