Celebrity Style At Couture Spring 2024
With maximalism on the rise it is no surprise that celebrities brought everything to the table this couture season. Looks were plentiful with embellishments, drama and most interestingly, shape which was the perfect mirror to the Schiaparelli and Jean Paul Gaultier looks about to unfold on the runway.
A sleek and chic look is always adored by front row guests and although this was definitely apparent this year, celebrities have taken it a step further with embellishments and created more interesting silhouettes. Hunter’s gold hibiscus necklace with the infamous Schiaparelli toe shoes were the perfect paring to her minimalist dress. Again, with details, Zendaya was also seen in a flawless, black dress with Star Trek esque bobbles on the sleeves and a dramatic train to pull the ensemble together. I have been adoring the motif of a simple dress with added drama and shape this season and is a refreshing change from bland silhouettes seen last season.

Gold and black were an unsurprising reoccurring theme from the Kardashians, sticking to their aesthetic of a clean and sleek matrix look, however, Kylie rocked a wet dry look with a stunning tulle and mesh dress for the Jean Paul Gaultier show and I am not the first to say that I am excited for her step away from black latex. With her daughter Stormi making another debut into the world of couture with a matching red tulle dress with Kylie for Jacquemus, it is undeniable that the pair have become the darlings of fashion week, and this is an exciting step into the fashion world for Stormi.

Another honourable mention to Noah Cyrus who I believe delivered the most interesting silhouettes this season and did not shy away from playing with shape. Particularly her sheer Stéphane Rolland sheath which was a beautiful play on texture and shape and paired with her recent bleached eyebrows unfolded a futuristic yet chic combination. Even taking a risk with such a statement diamond choker was another detail that created one of the most memorable looks this season.

With London fashion week creeping up, we can only hope that these maximalist silhouettes and dramatic jewellery can flourish and maybe it is finally time to move away from minimalism and see more celebrities take risks and redefine their aesthetic.
