As we are well and truly now in the holiday party season Victoria shares with us four holiday season party hair looks. With each look she shares the key tips, tricks and secrets to nailing that look.

These are the hair looks that your party season was waiting for…

1. Effortless Party Waves

Party waves are all about achieving effortless glam with a playful, sophisticated edge. Begin by washing your hair and on damp hair apply lightweight styling cream or mousse to provide grip and hold. Blow dry and choose where you want to part your hair. Use a curling iron or wand to create loose waves, alternating the direction of each curl for a more natural, party-ready finish.

For extra sparkle, incorporate a hair accessory, or just tuck one side behind your ear or secure with bobby pins. To ensure your style lasts, finish with a strong-hold finishing hairspray.

Tip: Never ever use a flat iron prior to curling your hair. If your hair struggles to hold a curl, opt for a smaller curling iron. For soft, voluminous waves, a larger barrel works best—but always finish your look with hairspray to maintain shape and longevity.

Trick: Work in sections and allow each curl to cool completely before touching it. This ensures the waves set properly while retaining bounce and movement. Spraying each curled piece with a workable soft hairspray slightly helps your look last longer. For a more effortless look, gently run your fingers through the curls rather than brushing them out.

Secret: Balance—balancing volume with softness, structure with movement, and shine with texture. By carefully alternating curls in direction gives the perfect look. Finishing with the right products is key so you can create waves that feel both glamorous and natural, perfect for any festive occasion.

2. Party Ponytails

The party ponytail is a fun, versatile style that can be worn sleek and polished or textured and playful. Start by deciding on the placement—high for a bold, energetic look, or low for something more chic and effortless. Smooth the hair back with a brush and a light styling gel or serum to control flyaways. To elevate the ponytail, add volume at the crown by gently teasing the roots before securing the hair. You can also wrap a small section of hair around the hair tie for a more polished finish and pin the ends underneath to hide the elastic.

For extra flair, incorporate subtle sparkle with hair glitter or shimmering spray along the parting or through the ponytail. Apply glitter over a touch of styling gel or wax so it stays in place while you dance.

Tip: Use a clear elastic band or one that matches your hair color for a seamless look.

Trick: Insert a bobby pin vertically under the elastic (opening facing forward) to instantly lift and secure your pony so it stays in place all night long.

Secret: Slightly curl the ponytail after it’s secured—this adds movement, makes the ponytail look fuller, and instantly gives it a more elevated, party-ready finish.

3. Classic or Boho Bun/Chignon

This timeless low bun or chignon is ideal for medium to long hair and can be worn sleek and polished or soft and romantic with a boho feel. The style can be created on wet or dry hair, depending on the look you prefer. For a messy boho bun, start with completely dry hair. Leave a few face-framing pieces out in the front, then gather the rest of the hair into a low ponytail at the nape of the neck. Lightly curl the ponytail with a curling iron, then loosely wrap and pin sections around the elastic band. This look does not need to be perfect—the beauty is in the texture and softness. For a smooth, high-shine chignon, begin on clean, towel-dried hair. Apply a thick styling gel from roots to ends and comb through to evenly distribute the product. Gather the hair into a low ponytail at the nape of the neck and secure with an elastic band. Apply a bit more gel to the ponytail for added control and shine. Place your index and middle fingers at the base of the ponytail. Wrap the ponytail down and around your fingers, guiding it up the right side. Twist the hair clockwise and wrap it over the top, then tuck it underneath and out the right side to form a chignon. Continue twisting any loose ends and secure with bobby pins, making sure each pin is firmly anchored. Finish with a strong-hold hairspray and smooth any flyaways with hairspray
and the palm of your hand for a clean, polished result.

Tip: Use bobby pins that match your hair color and insert them with the open end facing down for better hold.

Trick: Keep even tension while twisting the hair to avoid bumps and create a smoother shape.

Secret: The key to a beautiful low bun or chignon is secure placement with just enough looseness to keep it looking effortless. You can position your bun anywhere—from the middle of your head to the crown depending on the look you want to achieve.

4. Party-Ready Half Up & Half Down

This classic half up, half down style is perfect for medium to long hair and creates a soft, romantic look while keeping hair off the face. It can be worn sleek or paired with loose waves, making it a versatile option for holiday parties or special events. You’ll prep your hair exactly like you would for Party Waves. After you have your party waves in place, take a small piece of hair from both sides of your head right above your ears. Bring both pieces together to the center of your head and secure them with a hair band.

Tip: Lightly tease the crown where the hair will be secured, then use cross bobby pins underneath for extra hold and they’ll be completely hidden. Finish with a flexible hairspray to maintain softness while keeping the style in place.

Trick: Secure the half-up section with a small clear elastic band first, then wrap a thin piece of hair around it to conceal the elastic. This creates a cleaner finish and adds extra security, so the style lasts all night.

Secret: After securing the half-up section, gently pull a few tiny pieces at the crown and around the face to soften the shape. This creates a more effortless, romantic finish.
