Everyone is Wearing Raga Malak: The Brand You Should Know

Just when you think you’ve seen it all, when you feel that the fashion industry has squeezed out the last ounce of innovative creativity there is to offer, a new brand begins popping up on your Instagram feed. This is undoubtedly the case when it comes to Raga Malak – a Y2K meets Middle Eastern label that is disrupting the industry, one subversive look at a time.

The house was initially established in Beirut by two friends – Gadir Rajab and Raquelle Saba – and whilst they are now primarily operating down under in Melbourne, the heart remains with Lebanon. Despite the difference in hemisphere, Rajab and Saba have successfully maintained their Middle Eastern roots within their playful designs, incorporating Arabic writing and imagery within their collections, which they have self-proclaimed as “too Arab in the West, too western in the East.” From bodysuits with daring cutouts and skintight baby-tees to Mongolian fur tops and chiffon dresses, Raga Malak is the definition of it.

Since launching back in 2019, the brand has more than arguably achieved viral status through their of-the-moment looks and complex cultural messaging. Not only have the clothes become popular with some of social media’s biggest stars – the most famous women in the celebrity world have demonstrated their love for the label. Charli XCX – Gen Z’s certified cool girl – was spotted wearing a fur-trim top from their fall 2025 collection whilst appearing on stage with Addison Rae, whilst 2000s icon Paris Hilton donned a ‘mini skirt the size of a belt’. They join the likes of Ice Spice, Doja Cat and Jennie Kim of Blackpink, who have equally endorsed the brand – seriously, is there any better way to appeal to the ‘Instagram baddies’ than to dress such a lineup of current icons?

It’s difficult to say that Raga Malak is on the rise – as evidently they have already reached the top – but there is certainly no signs of them stopping. Developing a label that is both fresh and fashionable to a young audience, whilst conveying a deeper message is no simple task – but clearly it’s not impossible. The clever fusion of modern western styles with Middle Eastern heritage means tha their clothes can speak to customers from several walks of life, and the designers experience of growing up as immigrants in Australia shines through the collections themselves. If there has ever been a brand worth remembering, it’s Raga Malak.
