The exposed bra was a recurring feature of the Spring/Summer 2027 collections. At Prada, Khaite, Sandy Liang, Etro, Altuzarra and Fendi, bras were worn in place of conventional tops or left visible beneath jackets and shirts. Structured black balconettes, pale satin designs and delicate lace bralettes appeared with skirts, tailoring and relaxed separates.
Underwear as outerwear is well established in fashion, but the latest collections placed the bra at the centre of the outfit. Rather than incorporating lingerie-inspired details into conventional clothing, designers used recognisable bra shapes and fabrics, including underwired cups, satin and lace. The accompanying garments determined how formal, casual or revealing each look appeared.

At Prada, Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons explored the skirt through contrasting fabrics, embellishments and proportions. Black structured bras were paired with skirts featuring sheer panels, decorative finishes and unexpected colour combinations. One look combined a black bra with a dark skirt and green detailing, while another featured a pale, semi-sheer skirt. The restrained upper halves of the outfits placed greater emphasis on the skirts.

Sandy Liang used pale pink satin, delicate straps and patterned fabrics alongside skirts with gathered panels and fuller shapes. A pink bra was styled with a coordinating skirt and a small bag attached at the waist, while a pale bra appeared with a voluminous skirt featuring contrasting grey panels. The combination of lingerie, practical details and substantial skirts reflected the designer’s approach to everyday clothing.

At Etro, a lace bralette appeared beneath an open jacket with a coordinating skirt. Layered necklaces added detail to the look, while the exposed lingerie contrasted with the textured tailoring. Altuzarra took a similar approach with a dark bra and patterned tailored separates. Both collections retained the structure of a coordinated suit without using a conventional shirt or blouse underneath.

Khaite focused on simple shapes and contrasting fabrics. Catherine Holstein paired a white bra with a high-waisted black leather pencil skirt, combining a delicate upper garment with structured leather. Another look placed a bra beneath oversized pale outerwear, leaving the lingerie visible without exposing the entire upper body. The limited colour palette and absence of elaborate embellishment kept attention on the garments’ construction and proportions.

Fendi combined a pale green bra and matching lingerie-inspired bottoms with a long dark coat, bringing together lightweight underwear and substantial outerwear. Sandy Liang offered a more casual alternative, pairing a pale satin bra with loose, knee-length shorts. The two looks used different levels of coverage, with the outerwear at Fendi and the relaxed shorts at Sandy Liang providing contrasting ways to style the exposed bra.

How to Wear the Exposed Bra Trend
The most straightforward way to wear the trend is to treat a structured bra as a fitted top, pairing it with a high-waisted skirt or tailored trousers. An open blazer, cotton shirt or lightweight jacket provides additional coverage without concealing the bra. Black and white balconettes work with simple separates, while lace and satin styles can be balanced with heavier fabrics such as leather, denim or wool. A fuller skirt or oversized jacket also helps offset the close-fitting shape of the bra, as demonstrated by Prada, Sandy Liang and Khaite.
