Industry Insider | Karine Laudort of Kay Flawless
Karine Laudort is an inspiration. The digital creative agency founder, fashion journalist and fashion commentator has such a wonderful story.
Despite not coming from a corporate PR background, Karine built her PR firm from the scratch. Her background was banking and finance having worked with companies like Barclays to name just one. So she had no contacts from the fashion industry or PR sector but built her company Kay Flawless PR from the bottom up.
She worked for herself for 9 years and in that time was the only black female owned classed as ‘mainsteam’ Fashion PR company, first setting up offices in Wimbledon then in E14. During this time frame she worked with celebrities like Alesha Dixon, Paloma Faith, Eve, Rita Ora and brands like Iman Cosmetics. She helped brands garner great press.
A few weeks ago Karine rebranded her company Kay Flawless PR to Kay Flawless a digital creative agency seeking to make businesses look better online through graphic design, branding, social media and celebrity personal management.
She has no average day, on any given day she helps brands with their branding, lookbooks, websites and more. Her aim is to make brands look good online. Her company because of the state of the industry actually went digital a year ago but just didn’t announce it, so the change to digital was not a response to Covid 19.
Aside from this work, Karine has worked as a fashion journalist and expert commentator for the last 7 years, working with titles such as Glam Africa, Style of the City, The express, Metro and The Daily Mail, to name a few… She has also offered expert fashion commentaries on UK based TV news outlets such as Sky News and BBC News Afrique.
