LEM Fall/Winter 2026/27: When Fashion Becomes Art
Fashion and art have always influenced one another, but Georgian designer Pridon Niguriani places that relationship at the very centre of LEM Fall/Winter 2026/27 collection. Presented during the UNIQUE Fashion Show Paris 2026 at the historic Le Réfectoire des Cordeliers, the collection explored the idea that clothing can function as a genuine artistic medium rather than simply a form of dress.
Appropriately titled Fashion is Art, the collection was built around the belief that garments can communicate stories, emotions and creativity in much the same way as a painting or sculpture. Rather than using art merely as inspiration, Niguriani incorporated it directly into the designs, creating pieces that felt both expressive and highly personal.

A defining feature of the collection was its use of hand-painted details. Created by a professional artist, the painted elements required extensive craftsmanship, with some garments taking up to a week to complete. The resulting designs introduced a sense of individuality and artistry to each look, transforming fabric into a moving canvas.

The artistic vision extended beyond the garments themselves. Bold accessories played a central role throughout the presentation, including oversized chokers, dramatic headpieces, theatrical masks and sculptural embellishments. These elements brought a sense of performance to the runway, creating looks that existed somewhere between fashion, costume and contemporary art.

While creativity remained at the forefront, sustainability was also woven into the collection’s narrative. All accessories were produced through upcycling, reflecting Niguriani’s continued commitment to finding innovative ways to reduce waste while maintaining a strong visual identity. The approach demonstrated that environmentally conscious design does not have to come at the expense of imagination or craftsmanship.

With Fashion is Art, Pridon Niguriani continues to develop a design language that challenges conventional boundaries. The collection serves as a reminder that fashion can be more than a practical necessity or a reflection of trends. In the hands of the right designer, it can become a form of artistic expression capable of telling stories, provoking thought and inspiring creativity long after the runway presentation has ended.
