Studio Files | Selfridges Design Studio
A brand is only as powerful as its studio space.
Selfridges enlisted Campaign to conceive their design studio which is a 17,200 sq ft gallery. A space which mixes exposed raw brickwork, concrete like tiling and exposed columns. This studio celebrates fashion, design and art. It is christened the ‘Theatre of Forces’ and is a wonderful backdrop to shop or just be inspired.
There are custom design display cases which showcase accessories and an edit of Claire de Rouen tomes. The space is light filled, minimal abd modern, drawing the eye to the products that are on display. The space os transformative which is because of the fluid nature of fashion.
Buying director, Sebastian Manes is quoted as saying that “of the space that is modeled after a contemporary art gallery. ‘From rethought and unexpected brand adjacencies to a completely fluid retail configuration framed by architectural installations that create focus, through to the breakdown of gender-definition in the way we are approaching ready-to-wear – this is a progressive move forward in the way we buy, present and think about fashion.’”
This is a beautiful space that invites the customer to be inspired by it’s art like structures, the light minimal space, and the focus on the garments and accessories.
