Ten Major Trends From Fall 2024/2025

This season saw the resurgence of every trend dating as far back to the 60s. with 2000’s fashion making a comeback too, you may hate or love these trends, but surprisingly these iconic silhouettes are being transformed into a modern narrative of simplicity and glamour.

1. Bubble hem dresses and skirts:
This comeback of the iconic bubble hem may have been feared but Conner Ives and Molly Goddard tuned into 90s minimalism with a combination of fun tailoring to tun the bubble hem into an elevated staple. Whether it be a micro version or a maxi skirt, these skirts are the perfect addition to an oversized t-shirt.

2.Tailored suits
Suits will of course always be in fashion, but tactile tailoring is on the rise, and we have grown from the oversized suit to a well fitted. Smart structures are so simple yet add definition to the wearer; you will look effortlessly put together.

3. Fur
Fur is always in, but Alexander McQueen and Simone Rocha went to the extremes with fur turtlenecks and boots, and more subtly- collars. Bomber jackets with fur collars are the step up from the simple splash of fur. Turn to Burberry who paired this with a plaid maxi skirt- 2 hot trends of Autumn.

4. Animal print
Love it or hate it, leopard print is in- with designers like Marni putting an elevated twist on the iconic print, leopard has matured as an aesthetic. GANNI and Damson Madder provide pieces with subtle hints of the print in case the full animal monochrome is too bold for some.

5. 60s and 70s glamour
Pea coats and capes are everywhere this season, with Miu Miu and Schiaparelli taking a classy minimalist route into old, structured silhouettes with a daring modern take.

6. Monochrome
Whether it be colourful, printed or mesh, complete monochrome looks have been everywhere. Coperni of course has been bringing all mesh looks back, and with the new trend of nipples being used as accessories I am sure this trend will not be leaving the runway. Complete black and white looks were less plain jane thankfully with accessories and bold makeup contradicting the initial plain looks.

7. Micro shorts and Capris
Everything seems to be cropped this season. The smaller the better. With Gucci debuting a matching mini short and cardigan co ord, the micro short is indefinitely back and capris may be shortly following.

8. Skirts over trousers
The pairing that haunted the 2000s is back but this time in a more Issey Miyake way rather than Disney. Such a simple way to elevate an outfit- to remain sleek while participating in the trend perhaps try a monochrome outfit and play with textures and layering.

9. Accessories
While some designers ae still taking the quiet luxury route, slowly accessories are being used in styling again. Bags with drama, big hats, hair being used as an accessory- we have seen it all and hopefully maximalist jewellery is on the road to peak this year

10. Volume
Layering and drama in a minimalistic way seems to be popular this season. Volume with monochrome is such an elevation from the indie sleaze layering we previously saw. Sculptures in the form of fashion is slowly becoming a concept and I am so excited to see how this blossoms next season.
