Trailer | Story Magazine Presents Henrie The Northern Light : The Talent Issue By David Yeo In Collaboration With My Wardrobe HQ
Story Magazine is proud to present the trailer (yes indeed we have a trailer) for our Talent Issue and cover which is in collaboration with fashion rental marketplace My Wardrobe HQ as shot by the fantastic David Yeo.
Shot, edited and directed by the extraordinary TobiTade (profiled by Story Magazine here), the trailer sees the proceedings behind the makings of a four hour shoot shot by David Yeo (British Vogue, iD, Dazed and Confused etc) in London’s beautiful YoYo Studio with presenter and radio DJ Henrie Kwushue as cover star.
We entitle this Talent Issue’s cover girl as a ‘Northern Star’ as we compare her talent, magnetism, point of view and beauty to the Polaris Star. We believe Kwushue who has been hailed by the likes of GUAP magazine (she was featured on the cover of their Black Renaissance emerging talent issue in a crown in 2020), collaborated with Adidas, celebrated by Dazed and Complex who have praised her ‘How is your area changing’ series as produced by Kwushue’s own production company HTK. Kwushue presents a two part series which sees her attempt to address the gentrification of places like Peckham and Brixton. Social media loves her too and sees Kwushue share why she is worthy of being a cover star. Everyone is talking about Henrie and we can see why.
We believe she is the most interesting talent now and like the Northern Star we believe she’s leading the way for all her contemporaries…
This is our Talent Issue 2021. This is an exclusive collaboration with high fashion rental (buy or rent high fashion and luxury for near to nothing rates) marketplace My Wardrobe HQ (more on the platform founded by the glorious Sacha Newell and more on the exact pieces Henrie wore soon…). This is an idea birthed by visionary David Yeo who shot the cover. This is a trailer made a young filmmaker who is about to take over the film industry – TobiTade. This is a collaborative effort (we had the usual hair, makeup but we also had our columnist Sharon Adesola David on set to cover proceedings, TobiTade who is incharge of all Story Magazine in-house filming, Andreas Tomoiaga doing photography behind the scenes and art direction and styling by our editor-in-chief Marian). This is our Northern Star. This is Henrie.
