Best Dressed Looks at the 2024 Golden Globes

The 2024 award season has officially begun, starting with the 81st Annual Golden Globe Awards, held on January 7th! Held at The Beverly Hilton in California, the show celebrated and crowned the best of 2023 film and American television, with its host, comedian Jo Koy, taking us through the ceremony while delivering witty barbs directed at its attendees. And just like the award categories, the stylist choices last night were absolutely STACKED across the board, making this best dressed list infinitely difficult, but we’ve attempted to put one together for you — enjoy!

Margot Robbie

Hi Barbie! Robbie wowed us showing up to the red carpet in a custom made Armani Privé pink gown, replicating the one and only “‘77 Superstar Barbie” doll’s glamorous outfit. Pairing the look with a hot pink clutch and heels, along with beautiful diamond studs, one thing is certain — Barbie couture is here to stay.

Jennifer Lopez

Accompanying husband Ben Affleck (one of the celebrity presenters), Lopez also chose to give a nod to Barbie, dressing in a Nicole + Felicia Couture strapless gown in a shade of pastel pink reminiscent of the film. The classic styling of her hair and makeup didn’t take away from the dramatic rosettes adorning her long cape, making this look an all-around winner.

Florence Pugh

A true bombshell in custom Valentino, the Oppenheimer star came out swinging in a fire-truck red sheer slip dress embroidered with floral appliqué detailing. The voluminous skirt and edgy faux-hawk hairstyle added to the drama of Pugh’s look, pairing with sparkling silver Tiffany & Co jewellery and matching pumps for that extra edge.

Taylor Swift

Look what you made her do! Swift was truly bejeweled in a stunning green Gucci column dress and matching green stilettos, littered with sparkles head to toe. While her soft makeup paired with simple DeBeers drop earrings and silver rings gave the look a more toned down feel, we can’t help but wonder if this is a subtle nod to her upcoming Reputation re-record?

Julia Garner

Silver was a popular choice on the red carpet, but Garner’s dare-to-bare look may have blown the rest out of the water. Her Gucci sequin dress featured an extremely low neckline and high waist, accessorised with simple jewellery and silver platform sandals from Santoni. With this being one of the first appearances of new creative director Sabato de Sarno’s Gucci designs on the red carpet, we’re excited to see what comes next.

Skai Jackson

Jackson is fast becoming one of the staples on the red carpet in the entertainment world, and we can see why. She chose a beautifully ruched metallic silver Jenny Packham gown to wear to the Golden Globes, paired with matching silver jewellery and clutch. The floor-length gown twinkled under the dazzling lights, and Jackson added to the drama of the look with a bold smokey eye among soft, natural makeup.

Hannah Waddingham

Funeral, but make it chic. Waddingham sent shockwaves around California when she turned up in a semi-sheer black lace gown, dramatically accentuating her hourglass figure. The floor length lingerie-style dress had a fishtail bottom, perfectly trailing behind her as she hit the red carpet. Accessorising with silver jewellery, and hair in a short, sleek combover bob, if looks could kill, none of the photographers would be able to document this moment.

Rosamund Pike

The Saltburn star showed us exactly why she was the perfect choice for playing the effortlessly chic Elspeth Catton, stepping onto the red carpet in a glamorous lacy black ensemble from Dior, paired with a quintessentially British fascinator. When asked about the elaborate choice, Pike revealed it was to cover up injuries sustained from a skiing accident over the holidays. We’re obsessed.

Heidi Klum

Old Hollywood is back, and with it comes the glitz and glamour — who better to announce it than a drop-dead gorgeous supermodel? Klum stole the show in a vibrant red Sophie Couture ballgown, featuring a structured strapless bodice that led into a voluminous skirt, ruching up at the waist to reveal an incredibly toned leg behind a long slit. Paired with Lorraine Schwartz jewellery and bold red Louboutin heels, she truly was the belle of the ball.

Elle Fanning

Huzzah! While some critics may see this ensemble as too “pale”, we think the champagne-coloured archive Balmain dress works perfectly with Fanning’s delicate features, elevating the look to ethereal status. Accessorising with simple Cartier jewellery, Jimmy Choo pumps and hair placed in a sophisticated low bun, this look is fit for a queen — we dare say Catherine the Great would be proud.
