For his latest couture offering for the house of Schiaparelli, Daniel Roseberry looked at how modernity need not mean simplicity.
Entitled ‘Icarus’ the collection inspired by Greek Methology questioned if modernity should cost us our imagination.
With a nod to the past, Roseberry stated that he had looked to thw techniques of the likes of couturiers such as Poiret, Gres, Worth and Alaia.
There was a return to a silhouette that focused on the waist. The palette was muted as has been the practice at Schiaparelli. Roseberry’s experimentation with form and technique continues to astonish.
Our favourite design was a pleated ribbon gown that seemed to move as though it had a life of its own.
