Slawn Saatchi Yates: Slawn Exhibition
‘Slawn’ is brilliant British Nigerian artist Olaolu Slawn’s first major London exhibition at Saatchi Yates . The popular young artist is known for for collaborations and products which he has lended his art and design such as the Slawn rolex, Slawn Louis Vuitton, Slawn FA Cup, Slawn Supreme. He even has designed a Slawn Mobo Award.
Slawn art is rooted in both Yoruba heritage and contemporary societal themes intersects street art with Abstract Expressionist styles.
Addressing complex issues such as politics, race, and identity, Slawn’s artistic practice began in Lagos at Nigeria’s pioneering skate shop Wafflesncream.
The body of work in this exhibition includes the incredible ‘1000 Canvases’, 2024(Spray Paint on Canvas, 29.7 x 21 cm) that is made of 1000 canvases.
