We Are Obsessed: All About The Feud: Capote V/S The Swans Series And Where You Can Watch It
Feud: Capote V/S The Swans
Feud: Capote V/S The Swans directed by Gus Van Sant; is the real life sweltering hate and love scandalous bond cum drama between Truman Capote – the author of “In Cold Blood” and “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and high profile New York socialites in the 1960s and 1970s. Fire ignited when Capote exposed his “Swans” deepest-humiliated secrets in a 1975 Esquire article titled, “La Côte Basque 1965.”
This is the second season of the Ryan Murphy FX limited series which released this week primarily focusing on Laurence Leamer’s 2021 book, “Capote’s Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era”. The clique includes high society maîtresse like Slim Keith, C.Z. Guest ,Lee Radziwell and Babe Paley. The series narrates the story before and after their societal humiliation or fallout! The series has succinctly captured the scintillating gossip and private details of high profile figures during that time, reimaging the Feud once again.
The series traces the friendships and eventually a sinister rift. The show at times reverts to being cliché. Apart from that, the series portrays the psychologically rich inner personalities of the character, wonderfully enunciated and acted as an artist torn between his work and the life which is the ultimate story worth grabbing attention. Tom Hollander who is casted as Truman, in the story from his rise around the mid-’50s navigates through his untimely death in 1984, perfectly crafted the confusing frequencies of Truman’s personality and circumstances. He can be seeing charming the adventurous C.Z. Guest (Chloë Sevigny), intellectual pun-filled banters with brassy Slim Keith (Diane Lane) and taunts wild-eyed Ann Woodward (Demi Moore). The soul of the series lies in its story of Babe Paley (Naomi Watts) with whom Truman Capote had a more love which later turned out to be a mindful hate story where he guides her to use her powerful husband Bill’s serial infidelity to her advantage. Although Babe and “other swans” couldn’t have ever trusted Capote fully but his wit, charm and playful intelligence could make the “unknown things” happen.
Feud is on FX in USA and will be available to stream on Hulu. It is not yet released in the UK and when it is it will be on Disney+.
