Production Files | Cristina Cipolli

Production Files takes you into the behind the production of the designs that we love. We show you the processes that designs go through from moodboard and sketch to the final design.

Today we speak to Cristina Cipolli an architect turned jeweller who creates eco-fine and fine jeweller that drives towards a sustainable and sophisticated ethos. With symbols of personal drive, passion, and an appetite for freedom, this unisex label is driving in fifth gear. Her work blends the magic of architectural attributes with the world of jewellery, taking hints from tribal traditions and ancient civilisations, these elements tie together the minimalistic aesthetic that the designer strides towards.

“I start sketching by hand, then I develop the design with the computer and then I send it to a workshop in London.

For complicated shapes they start making a master from a mold in wax (see pictures of the blue bracelet).

Then the product will be made for example in sterling silver, and hand finished. Attached pictures of the brushes used

More simple pieces are completely hand crafted and the stone setting is done by a specialist. As you know I buy stones in Jaipur. Last year I couldn’t visit the factory though.

I only have old pictures in my phone of the production progress, but I’ve attached some of the Sharch Bangles.

First 3 pictures are from Central Saint Martins, just to show how I started. My bench, me making my first ring ever and the polishing room.”
