It has become custom that the halftime show has become one of the most swoon-worthy performances grabbing the attention of both sports and music lovers world over. Fans go crazy seeing their favourite pop-star make headlines and performing during the show. We have seen some great halftime shows and last year it was Rihanna’s turn, headlining at State Farm Stadium during Super Bowl LVII. The halftime show requires an artist with a deep catalog of well-known hits, dedicated fandom, and widespread appeal.
The internet broke when a promotional video with the NFL’s announcement showing the present-day Usher addressing and calling Usher from the 2004 “Confessions Pt. II” music video to deliver the big news that he would be headlining this year’s show. Usher has become known for possibly carrying on the title of King of R&B post Michael Jackson for topping the charts with smooth dance breaks, captivating serenades and lighthearted energy.
Super Bowl halftime is often considered as a 13-minute showcase of a musician/singer’s entire contribution to creative music evolution with the set of tracks spanning their entire career. Usher confirmed that special guest(s) will be joining him on-stage during his show and fans and media are speculating that the talented Alicia Keys is one of the star singers in question! In a recent interview with “Entertainment Tonight” Usher exclaimed that he is super excited to perform his 2004 hit single “Yeah!” with the featured artists who helped make it- Ludacris and Lil Jon. Both are a great choice as they were both born in Las Vegas. Fans have broken the internet talking about “Yeah!”and the possibilities concerning this upcoming specific performance. Given his extensive catalog of music and the hits it has amassed it was no surprise that during Usher’s press conference with Apple Music he confessed that it was “a challenge to squeeze 30 years [of music] into 13 minutes.”
Amidst all the intense anticipation and speculation names like Beyoncé, and Justin Bieber have also made the rounds as possible special surprise guests during the show.
As the D-Day pproaches tomorrow it is Usher’s turn to stun and that we know he will.
